“Before coming to Sandstone Care, I was a slave to drugs and alcohol. It also did not help my mental health. I had lost a lot of hope and I had lost my spirituality. I was spiritually bankrupt. Sandstone Care gave me hope and gave me something to look forward to.” – Jesse

When it comes to finding the right treatment program for you or a loved one, it’s essential to choose an organization that offers a comprehensive assessment process.
At Sandstone Care, we believe that every individual has unique needs, and we’re committed to tailoring our programs to meet those needs.
Don’t settle for a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. Choose an organization that takes the time to understand your unique needs and provides personalized care and support.
Look for a licensed, experienced organization that focuses on a team-oriented approach, working together to support each client and their family. Find a team that includes individual and family therapists, substance abuse counselors, psychiatrists, and dietitians.
A highly credentialed team taking a holistic approach to care is critical to achieving successful outcomes from substance abuse and addiction treatments.
An organization that focuses on participant safety, both physical and emotional. Many people will discover through the treatment process that abstinence from all substances is the best choice for them. Through this journey, it is important to support participants in staying safe and reducing harm.
Find a support system and a health center you trust to aid your substance use and addiction treatment.
Drug abuse and addiction generally co-occur with a mental health or trauma experience. It is important that a treatment program has the ability to treat not only substance abuse but also underlying mental health concerns and trauma.
Ideally, a program would have a psychiatrist on staff, and staff trained in trauma-informed care. A good support system believes recovery and healing are two sides of the same coin, and both are necessary for long-lasting success.
An organization that draws on research and time-tested practices for the best possible outcome. Research or ask about the therapy methods they use in addition treatment.
Any large life challenge always affects and is impacted by the surrounding system. Find an organization that supports and integrates the whole family. No one walks the road to recovery alone.

There are many signs that getting help might be necessary. Some signs may include changes in friend groups, under-performing at school, running away, participating in illicit activities, engaging in risky behavior, or acts of self-harm.
The amount of treatment needed is very much dependent on each individual. A licensed clinician performs a comprehensive clinical assessment to understand the unique needs of each person to determine the level of care needed.
The assessment is the first step for all of our clients. The primary reason for the assessment is for us to get to know you and your situation so we can recommend the right program for you, whether that is at Sandstone Care or elsewhere. It is also a great time for you to get to know Sandstone Care as well.
Medication management can be an important part of the treatment process. If medication is recommended, our medication provider will see the client on a regular basis until an ongoing provider is established. If a client has an outside provider and they would like to continue to guide their medication during Sandstone IOP, a release will be required to ensure integrated care.
We understand taking the first step is difficult. There is no shame or guilt in asking for help or more information. We are here to support you in any way we can.
