Deciding on the right treatment plan can be a difficult process, and we want to address any questions you have that may be holding you back from finally changing your life.

Not finding the answers to your questions below? Give us a call. Our admissions counselors are standing by; they will get to know you and your specific situation and connect you to the help you need – even if it’s not with us.

If you’re unsure whether or not you need treatment for your mental health struggles, here are some signs that it might be time to seek professional help:

  • Consistent Negative Emotions: You’re experiencing persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, or other emotions that get in the way of your daily life.
  • Changes in Behavior: You’ve noticed changes in your behavior including canceling social plans, changes in appetite, lack of sleep or sleeping too much, or a loss of interest in school or work.
  • Physical Symptoms: You’re experiencing unexplained aches or chronic fatigue.
  • Difficulty Coping: It’s becoming more difficult to cope with everyday stressors, and you may be relying on unhealthy coping mechanisms like substance use.
  • Thoughts of Harm: You have thoughts of harming yourself or others.

It’s always a good idea to talk to a mental health professional who can assess your situation and get you the help you need. Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness, and it’s an important step toward taking care of your well-being.

Mental health conditions don’t wait for a convenient time to strike, and leaving them untreated can lead to more long-term damage in your academic and work life than the time it would take to seek treatment.

Our intensive outpatient programming (IOP) can be completed after your work or school responsibilities. These programs, led by skilled advisors, provide the structure and direction you need without forcing you to take a break from your daily commitments.

And if you need some additional support, our day treatment program (PHP) includes academic and vocational support led by licensed teachers that help you not only keep your head above water, but actually excel & get ahead in your school and work responsibilities.

Prioritize your health without putting your life on hold.

Seeking treatment isn’t a burden; in fact, it can actually lift the burdens your family is already carrying. We offer support groups and family therapy to ensure everyone is taken care of.

Your willingness to seek help is often the crucial first step in breaking cycles of generational pain within your family. Involving your family in treatment strengthens relationships and equips them with the skills to navigate their own emotional challenges.

Through our skill-building exercises and therapeutic treatment methods, you’ll learn healthy coping mechanisms that you can start putting into action right away.

At our Richmond Mental Health Center, we only use evidence-based approaches that are scientifically-proven to help. Our highly-credentialed staff use a combination of therapeutic techniques such as CBT and DBT, psychiatry, & experiential therapies, to uncover the underlying causes of your mental health struggles.

You’ll have the confidence & tools to face old triggers, and your mental health struggles will no longer disrupt your daily life and overall well-being.

Medication management & medication assisted treatment can be important parts of the treatment process for mental illness. If after a psychiatric evaluation medication is recommended, our medication provider will see you on a regular basis until an ongoing provider is established.

Our mental health care programs may be appropriate for a teen or young adult who is using substances to cope with their mental health issues or mental illnesses.

If substance abuse (more appropriately known as “substance use disorder”) continues to be the primary issue being addressed, then one of our substance use treatment programs may be a better fit.

Research consistently demonstrates that age-specific mental health programs, like the one offered at Sandstone Care, are more effective and lead to longer-lasting positive outcomes. The key factor is tailoring the behavioral health treatment to what matters most to you.

When mental health care is customized to your specific age group, it becomes more relevant and resonant with your life experiences, challenges, and developmental needs. This personalized approach addresses mental health issues in a way that directly connects with your reality, making the interventions more impactful, stabilization more accessible, and long-term success more likely.
