Daily Programming and Activities
Our evidence-based treatments and proven programming create a positive space for the development of healthy habits.
While our programs vary based on the level of care, we strive to create an environment that best supports the needs of adults with substance use disorders and dual diagnoses.
Marijuana has become a way to self-medicate for underlying issues and it’s easy to become dependent on its use.
Studies have found that binge drinking & heavy alcohol use are problematic for young people.
Opioid misuse occurs when a person uses heroin or misuses prescription pain relievers like hydrocodone, oxycodone, and morphine.
Commonly abused stimulants include cocaine, methamphetamines, and prescription stimulants, like Ritalin, Adderall, and Concerta.
EBTs are scientifically proven therapies that are guided by relevant data. Patient preferences are prioritized, which maximizes their options and adds flexibility to individual treatment plans. Evidence-based therapy is safe and consistent treatment, but most importantly, your recovery is not left up to chance.
Some additional benefits include:
The American Psychological Association created the policies for EBT using the best research available. Their studies have shown that these therapy treatments work due to the combination of clinical training and science.
Our licensed clinical staff is trained in therapy treatments that are proven to be effective. This means they had to learn and follow certain guidelines for how they provide care.
Since these kinds of treatments are scientifically proven to be effective, the chances of relapse are less likely. This means you’ll be able to save more money in the long run.
EBT requires specialized training in the different kinds of therapies. Treatment options aren’t based on the therapist’s mood, they are backed by training and scientific results.
The Continuum of Care
Access a full range of treatments for mental health and substance use disorders. Whether you need a safe transitional living community, inpatient care, or outpatient therapy, we have a program to help.
5-21 days of 24/7 on-site medical supervision.
Our Medically-Assisted Detox and Inpatient Center offers private rooms and 24/7 medically supervised care to support a safe recovery from drugs and alcohol, followed by comprehensive treatment that addresses your physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs.
2 – 6 Months
Our Transitional Living Program combines the structure of treatment and group living, with the freedom of living away from home.
This level of care is for young adults (18-30) who are not quite ready to heal from home. A safe and supportive living environment integrated with a PHP or IOP level of care so you learn life skills and healthy coping mechanisms in an environment that’s set up for your success.
2-4 weeks of on-site day treatment.
Our Young Adult Day Treatment Program, also known as Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), is a highly structured level of care for young adults that offers five days of robust programming a week.
Our two distinct mental health and substance use tracks help young adults to stabilize, begin to understand their mental health and/or addiction struggles, and heal from them. We strive to help our clients become more like the person they want to be without using negative coping strategies or substances to get there.
8-12 weeks of on-site or virtual treatment.
Our Young Adult IOP, or Intensive Outpatient Program, offers two distinct tracks to address young adult needs, each track consisting of 3-4 days of weekly programming.
In our mood disorder track, we are able to focus on mental health, depression, trauma, and anxiety. In our dual diagnosis track, we are able to support young adults with substance use and mental health challenges. Each focuses on developing positive social, academic, and vocational habits while continuing with their job or school responsibilities.
Our MAT, or Medication Assisted Treatment Program, is offered at both inpatient and outpatient levels of care. MAT assists those struggling with substance use disorder resulting in withdrawal symptoms.
Clients work closely with a medical provider to ensure the safe and effective use of medications to allow for maximum engagement in the treatment process.

The assessment is the first step for all of our clients. The primary reason for the assessment is for us to get to know you and your situation so we can recommend the right program for you, whether that is at Sandstone Care or elsewhere. It is also a great time for you to get to know Sandstone Care as well.
Treatment plans commonly involve the specific goals of the individual’s therapy and the interventions they may use to help reach those goals.
Substance abuse treatment plans are documented by professionals and often start with an evaluation or assessment to identify problems that the individual may be experiencing.
Knowing what level of care would be best for you is tricky! If you experience withdrawal symptoms when you attempt to discontinue use, it is more than likely you would benefit from detox. However, the best way to know whether or not you would benefit from medical detox is to get a professional opinion. Our trained admissions team would be happy to speak with you and advise you on next steps.
Every person Sandstone Care treats is different. While some detox facilities have a set number of days and a detox protocol that is the same for everyone, we tailor our treatment to meet our clients where they are at. The average length of stay is 5-14 days. Some of the factors that impact length of stay are:
