Comprehensive PHP & IOP Options Available

You have options with Sandstone Care. Choose between our Partial-Hospitalization Program (PHP) and our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) based on the level of care that best meets your needs and schedule. Both programs employ evidence-based treatments proven to provide long-term results.

PHP patients visit our center multiple days each week for several hours of treatment at a time. Some modalities include group therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and family therapy. This program provides the intensive support and care that many teens need to overcome their challenges and make positive changes in their lives.

Teens and young adults enrolled in our IOP in Boulder participate in treatment a few times per week for 1-2 hours. Individuals often choose to begin treatment with our PHP and graduate to our IOP when they begin to benefit from less intensive care. This program offers life-changing healing that fits into your regular schedule.

Hope for the Whole Family

The involvement of family plays an important role in mental health treatment for teens and young adults. Because of this, we encourage the whole family to attend therapy sessions to learn how they can best support their loved one and heal together.

Family therapy is a great tool that can benefit the entire family system. It can help members learn how to communicate better, provide support for each other, develop coping strategies to face challenges head on, and create a safe space for important conversations.

We believe the treatment process is collaborative, so including families in our programs also allows us to receive valuable input and perspective to better tailor therapies to each patient. Reach out to us today for more information on how our Boulder Mental Health Center can support your family.

Medication management can be an important part of the treatment process. If medication is recommended, our medication provider will see the client on a regular basis until an ongoing provider is established. If a client has an outside provider and they would like to continue to guide their medication during Sandstone IOP, a release will be required to ensure integrated care.

The mental health program may be appropriate for teens and young adults who are using substances to cope with their mental health issues. Many teens and young adults struggle with substance use and mental health issues simultaneously. If substance abuse continues to be the primary issue being addressed, then an addiction recovery program may be the correct care and a referral will be made.

As a dedicated care provider, our outpatient rehab offers comprehensive support for depression, anxiety, and other conditions. We believe in a well-balanced recovery and provide intimate, small group settings for effective peer support. Our program includes weekly multifamily group sessions, academic/vocational skill building sessions twice a week, and specialized group therapy led by licensed clinicians and medical providers who are available to meet participants for medication management, psychiatric services, and weekly evaluations.

Our team of care providers is here to assist participants every step of the way. Our clinical groups combine skills-based programs, focusing on DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), along with person-centered process groups. These sessions cater to individuals facing mental health challenges, such as depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and past trauma. We strive to create a nurturing environment where participants can find the support they need on their journey to recovery.

Family plays a vital role in the overall wellness of each individual served. Individual family sessions are offered bi-weekly to examine the family’s role in creating new patterns of behavior and changing old behavior that reinforced negative behaviors. Connection is key in recovery. The family is taken into heavy consideration throughout our case management process. We ensure that family members are informed of all available crisis services. Our program also utilizes weekly multi-family groups to reinforce new skills being learned in groups and as a source of support and guidance.

You can begin the process by calling our admissions department at (888) 850-1890. If you or a loved one are experiencing an emergency mental health crisis, please call the suicide prevention crisis line at 988.

Our care team is an integrated team of professionals and mental health partners who collaborate with each client to reach their goals using evidence-based treatment and community resources. They will also coordinate with your primary care doctor to ensure the proper treatment plan is selected. Our team consists of licensed clinicians, medical providers, and a teacher.
