Program Director

MarQuitia Glass serves as the Clinical Program Director at Sandstone Care Richmond, where her extensive background in mental health and addiction counseling informs her compassionate and dynamic approach to client care. MarQuitia earned her credentials through intensive work in various challenging settings, including prison systems where she provided comprehensive mental health services ranging from suicide assessments to gender dysphoria assessments and treatment plan coordination.

A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), MarQuitia’s expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of therapeutic services, including trauma-focused therapy, family systems therapy, and an array of specialized services addressing needs from substance abuse to intensive in-home counseling. Her therapeutic approach is notably eclectic, adapting creatively to the individual needs of each client at every stage of their healing journey, reflecting her belief in the necessity of flexibility and innovation in therapy.

MarQuitia has cultivated a particular expertise in working with family systems and trauma across all age groups. She is passionate about clinical supervision and actively participates in the training and development of other mental health professionals. MarQuitia is not only a supervisor but also deeply involved with her clients and families, often stepping in to co-facilitate groups to ensure the efficacy and comfort of the therapeutic environment.

One of her core beliefs is that working as a medical/mental health provider offers a unique opportunity to assist others on their paths to mental wellness while also engaging in a profession she deeply loves. MarQuitia finds immense satisfaction in making a positive impact on the lives of others, guiding them through their journey toward recovery and improved mental health.

Outside of her professional life, MarQuitia enjoys organizing, undertaking home decor projects, and indulging in quality time with her family and best friend, who is also a therapist. These activities not only provide relaxation and joy but also keep her grounded and connected to her community.
