Amy Cwiklinski is a dedicated Family Therapist based in Buffalo Grove, who brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate approach to their practice. They graduated with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Adler University in 2018 and are a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). With nearly seven years of experience, Amy has developed a deep understanding of the complex dynamics within families and relationships.

Amy employs a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. These approaches enable them to effectively address a range of issues, tailored to the unique needs of each client. Amy has particular expertise in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals with neurodivergence, and those struggling with emotional regulation, providing them with the tools and support needed to navigate their challenges.

One of Amy’s core beliefs is that “everything is figure out-able,” and they are passionate about working collaboratively with their clients to find solutions and pathways to better mental health and relationship dynamics. Amy finds great fulfillment in their role, especially when they witness their clients achieve goals they once thought were unattainable and begin to feel good about themselves. This aspect of their work not only brings them joy but also motivates them to continue enhancing their skills as a therapist.

Outside of their professional life, Amy has a variety of interests that keep them engaged and fulfilled. They are an avid reader and enjoy cross-stitching, and they are currently learning embroidery. Amy loves animals and shares their home with four cats and their husband. They enjoy a quiet and happy life together, filled with activities they both love, including hosting weekly board game nights with close friends.
