Name, Role, Tenure at SSC:

Laboratory Operations Manager and Technical Supervisor of Sandstone’s High Complexity Lab.

What first drew you to Sandstone Care, and what felt important to you about joining this team?

Sandstone’s values aligned with what I wanted to represent in my career. I indirectly help others, and it fills me with joy and accomplishment. I really wanted to be on this side of the industry. Sandstone checked all the boxes. Worth mentioning, the amazing work/life balance I have.

What new opportunities have you discovered during your time here?

I started as a laboratory technician and Sandstone’s promoted me to Management of the whole Lab Operations in the Company. Hard work paid off for me.

What moments stand out to you as especially meaningful in your career at Sandstone Care?

I remember one of our former Chief’s checking in with me personally a couple of times when I was having issues concerning my health. The reassurance motivated me to continue with the plans I had at the time and take time for myself. It was extremely meaningful to me that someone from such position was concerned about my wellbeing and future. That was an experience I will never forget, because I felt special, valued and respected.

How has the team or culture at Sandstone Care contributed to your development?

Sandstone’s team is very cooperative. I work with majority of our clinical and medical staff. Having support from others helps us a lot with our commitment to what we do. We technically can’t do what we do without them.

If you could share advice with a new team member just starting out, what would you want them to know about opportunities at Sandstone Care?

Go for it. I am example that you can grow as a professional and individual in the company. Don’t be scared of expressing your point of view and share any ideas that can be beneficial for your professional development at Sandstone.
