Day Treatment For Teens

Our Day Treatment program, also known as Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), is a highly structured level of care with over 35 hours of weekly programming. Here, teens ages 13-18 are able to stabilize and begin understanding their addiction and mental health struggles so they are able to overcome them. We also strive to help these young people become more like the person they want to be, without using substances to get there. Teens in our Day Treatment program participate in one-on-one and group counseling, spend time at the gym, and have time for academic support and vocational planning.

Academic Support & Vocational Planning

Substance misuse distracts from the things that should matter in life such as academics and career planning. During our Day Treatment program, we make your academic success and future career a priority. Our goal is to prepare you for success after leaving treatment. To ensure your success, this program provides group vocational support sessions for up to five hours every week and also individualized planning focused on helping you get back on track at school.

Dealing With Co-Occurring Mental Health & Behavioral Needs

When teens struggle with misusing substances like drugs or alcohol, a mental health disorder often accompanies the issue, which is often known as duel diagnosis. We have licensed clinicians and M.D. psychiatrists on staff who excel at assessing and treating these underlying issues, which may include anxiety, depression, bipolar, or trauma. Dealing with these co-occurring mental health and behavioral needs is a core part of our program.

Creating a Positive Sober Community

One of the biggest hurdles to sobriety and wellness for teens is often the lack of a peer community which supports them in making this change. Sandstone Care emphasizes building a fun and positive community of peers who are also in recovery. This enables you to have a more joyful, connected life.

Improving Relationships with Family & Friends

Substance use and addiction challenge the bonds of even the strongest relationships. Substance use also often builds resentment and causes conflict. Sandstone Care’s supportive counselors and therapists work to help participants re-establish bonds with family members, friends, and other members of their support community. Our Day Treatment program includes a weekly family group meeting, and a support group for parents.

You’ll be Seen, Valued, Heard & Respected

We inspire change by meeting you where you're at. We want to come alongside to support and help you start living the life you want to live.

How Do I Know if Day Treatment Is Right For Me?

Continuum of Care

Day Treatment is often the stage in the treatment process which people step down into after wilderness therapy or residential care. Day Treatment provides a high level of care, supervision, and accountability. It does all of these while still allowing clients to live at home or in a sober living environment during the treatment process.

Who Typically Comes to Day Treatment?

  • Teens who have recently completed a residential or wilderness program and are looking to step down into a slightly less intensive level of care.
  • Teens struggling with addiction or mental health who need significant structure to help support stabilization, and have either temporarily left school, are in transition between schools, or looking to finish out of school online or pursue their GED.
  • Teens struggling academically and socially because they’re misusing a substance.
