Oak’s diverse background includes an internship at Linden Oaks, where they focused on chemical dependency and dual diagnosis programs at the St. Charles location. Additionally, Oak has experience as an addiction counselor at Footprints to Recovery and as a sexual assault counselor, with extensive training through ICASA and ICADV. Their private practice experience is complemented by active participation in multiple networking and continuing education events.

In their therapeutic practice, Oak employs a blend of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), enriched with elements of Parts Work and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Oak also finds joy in playing video games, watching favorite TV shows like “Charmed” and “Game of Thrones,” and exploring new neighborhoods and forest preserves with their dogs, Raven and Crowley. Crafting activities such as embroidery, knitting, and cross-stitch also provide Oak with a therapeutic outlet for relaxation.
