Elizabeth Krug, LMSW, works as a primary therapist and group facilitator for young adults in Sandstone’s intensive outpatient program in Alexandria, Virginia.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and art from UNC Asheville and a Master of Social Work degree from UNC Chapel Hill.
Before starting grad school, she worked as a mental health technician at residential dual diagnosis treatment centers in the mountains of NC, where she developed a deep appreciation for the healing power of community.
Elizabeth uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as a foundation for her clinical work, incorporating DBT skills along with other person-centered approaches to fit each client’s individual needs.
In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys breathing deeply in nature, laughing with friends, snuggling her cat, and scouring the racks of local thrift stores.
