Age-Specific Care
We are age-specific, not gender-specific. We focus on the unique circumstances that you face at your specific stage of life.
Your needs are unique. Your brain and body are still developing and your need to connect with others is at an all-time high. You may be struggling to develop a strong, healthy self-image in the face of a rapidly changing world. Regain control and seek help for substance abuse, addiction, and mental health struggles.
By providing personalized treatment plans with evidence-based therapies, our programs are specialized in helping you to catch your footing as you transition into this new stage of your life.
Therapy Treatments
Find which proven methods work best for you at Sandstone Care.
Following your comprehensive assessment, we craft an individualized treatment plan tailored to meet your specific needs at Sandstone Care. Instead of dwelling on why you’re here, our emphasis is squarely on the path forward. We utilize our clinical framework to guide you in discovering your own values, beliefs, strengths, and passions. The focus is on your journey of self-discovery and growth, empowering you to move forward with purpose and resilience.
You’re looking at how the individual roles you play and the ways you relate to each other effect everyone in the family. In family systems therapy, your therapist’s job is to help family members build that system on interactions that work well for everyone within it. We include your family in each step of recovery, so you can build stronger and healthier relationships.
In group therapy, you’ll interact with people your own age who are experiencing the same struggles you are. You will build healthy friendships and see firsthand that you are not alone and you are not the only person who has struggled with mental health and substance use conditions.
When you’re grappling with both a mental health disorder and a substance use disorder, we call it “co-occurring disorders” or “dual diagnoses.” At Sandstone Care, we recognize the significance of treating you as a whole person. This means we address co-occurring disorders alongside substance abuse and/or addiction simultaneously, understanding the interconnected nature of these challenges. Your journey with us focuses on comprehensive care to ensure that both aspects of your well-being are given the attention and support they deserve.
We developed our evidence-based curriculum with the latest available research to address your deepest physical, mental, and emotional issues. It is our goal to reach the root of the substance use or addiction issue. We include the following therapies, assessments, and plans in our programs:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Mindfulness
Somatic Symptom Assessment and Plan
Brain & Body Trauma Assessment and Plan
Weekly Organized Physical Activities
Nutritional Assessment and Plan
At Sandstone Care, you won’t fall behind in school or at work during your treatment. We make sure of that by requiring your participation in academic and vocational programs alongside our therapeutic services. Throughout your time here, our committed academic and vocational adviser will be fully dedicated to empowering you. They’ll help you rekindle your motivation, build confidence, set college and career goals, and develop the skills needed for independent living. Your journey with us is not just about overcoming challenges but also about achieving your educational and vocational aspirations.
Medication management involves diagnosing, treating, and preventing substance use and mental health conditions. Every young adult is unique and requires a customized treatment program. Our clinical staff helps you become an expert in managing your treatment and medication. While not every individual needs medication, we help prepare and educate those who do.

CLICC Framework for Success
Our therapists rely on these five pillars to zero in on what you’re good at and to spot any areas in your recovery that could use some extra attention.
This personalized approach is like having a roadmap customized just for you. It guides you through the process, helping you recognize your strengths and addressing any areas that might be holding you back in your recovery journey. The goal is to get you to that pivotal breakthrough moment – the game-changer that sets the stage for a recovery that lasts and lasts.
I initially came to Sandstone for IOP and it helped me get through a really though time in my life. I ended up staying through OP and I would recommend it to anyone that needs support with their mental health.
Addiction and mental health often go hand-in-hand. Work on both at Sandstone.
Often young adults struggling with drug and alcohol use also have underlying mental health or behavioral disorders such as depression, anxiety, or personality disorders. Our clinical team focuses on helping you to identify and improve any underlying concerns, so you are fully prepared to address addiction from all directions.

2-6 Months
Our Transitional Living Program combines the structure of treatment and group living, with the freedom of living away from home.
This level of care is for young adults (18-30) who are not quite ready to heal from home. A safe and supportive living environment integrated with a PHP or IOP level of care so you learn life skills and healthy coping mechanisms in an environment that’s set up for your success.
4 weeks of on-site day treatment.
Our Young Adult Day Treatment Program, also known as Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), is a highly structured level of care for young adults that offers five days of robust programming a week.
Our two distinct mental health and substance use tracks help young adults to stabilize, begin to understand their mental health and/or addiction struggles, and heal from them. We strive to help our clients become more like the person they want to be without using negative coping strategies or substances to get there.
12 weeks of on-site or virtual treatment.
Our Young Adult IOP, or Intensive Outpatient Program, offers two distinct tracks to address young adult needs, each track consisting of 3-4 days of weekly programming.
In our mood disorder track, we are able to focus on mental health, depression, trauma, and anxiety. In our dual diagnosis track, we are able to support young adults with substance use and mental health challenges. Each focuses on developing positive social, academic, and vocational habits while continuing with their job or school responsibilities.
