Partial-Hospitalization vs. Intensive Outpatient Treatment

Sandstone Care offers both Partial-Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) in Colorado Springs, CO. So what’s the difference?

Partial Hospitalization Programming (PHP)

PHP patients visit our center 5 days a week for 4-5 hours of treatment at a time. Treatments include individual and group therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and family therapy. PHP provides the intensive support that individuals need after they exit detox or a Residential Treatment Center.

Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP)

Teens and young adults enrolled in IOP in Boulder participate in treatment 3-4 days a week for a few hours a day. Individuals often step down from PHP into IOP. This programming also allows you to continue regularly attending school, extracurriculars, or work.
