Our Pillars of Treatment in Denver, CO

Family Involvement

Families are a critical component of lasting recovery for adolescents and young adults. Sandstone Care provides support and education for family members with a loved one in treatment, and also involves them in the essential process of exploring how family dynamics can help or hinder recovery. Sandstone Care works directly with families throughout the treatment episode through individual family therapy, multi-family groups, and family recovery support services. We provide families with the tools they need to feel empowered, healthy and hopeful.

Dual Diagnosis Care

Mental health concerns and substance abuse / addiction frequently go hand-in-hand. People who abuse drugs and alcohol commonly suffer from conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and more. Proper diagnosis of underlying mental health concerns is a necessary precursor to effective treatment planning. Sandstone Care’s Medical Director works directly with individuals with a dual diagnosis and collaborates closely with the broader treatment team to address these core issues.

Integrative Medicine

Too often, care for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders is fragmented, or may address one small piece of the puzzle at a time. Sandstone Care recognizes that taking a holistic approach to treatment is critical to successfully addressing the underlying issues that may be attributing to substance use and addiction. As a result, our multidisciplinary team works closely together to develop a cohesive treatment plan, that simultaneously addresses the psychological, relational, and physiological needs of an individual. Academic and Vocational Support

At Sandstone Care, we do more than just help clients stop abusing substances. We guide them through the discovery of passions that fill their lives with meaningful challenges and accomplishments. One of the ways we do this is through ongoing academic and vocational support. For our younger clients, this programming focuses more on homework help, tutoring, mentoring, and near- & long-term goal setting. For the young adults, the program tends to be more vocationally oriented, with the goal of helping the individual attain a job, develop or excel in their career, or re-enroll in college. Life skills coaching is a fundamental component of this programming for both the adolescents and young adults.

Community Support

The ultimate goal of the program is to create a new, sustainable, joyful and meaningful way of life. Sandstone Care has dedicated resources and clinical staff to help our clients identify classes, jobs, sports, and other activities that help individuals connect to vibrant and inspiring communities. These new communities are often the key to supporting a new, healthy lifestyle.
