How do I know if I need detox?
Knowing what level of care would be best for you is tricky! If you experience withdrawal symptoms when you attempt to discontinue use, it is more than likely you would benefit from detox. However, the best way to know whether or not you would benefit from medical detox is to get a professional opinion. Our trained admissions team would be happy to speak with you and advise you on next steps.
How long is medical detox?
Every person Sandstone Care treats is different. While some detox facilities have a set number of days and a detox protocol that is the same for everyone, we tailor our treatment to meet our clients where they are at. The average length of stay is 5-14 days. Some of the factors that impact length of stay are:
- What substances from which the client is detoxing
- How long the client has been drinking or using drugs
- The frequency that the client has been drinking or using drugs
- Overall physical and mental health of the client

What happens upon arrival to the facility for admission?
When you arrive to the Colorado Springs Detox & Inpatient Center, you will be greeted at the door by one of our staff members. A nurse and behavioral health technician will guide you through the admission and intake process which includes several assessments and initial evaluations. Then you will be shown to your private room and given some time to settle in and meet other staff and clients in the facility.

Each client is supported by a highly credentialed, multidisciplinary treatment team which includes a Medical Doctor, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Licensed Clinicians, Registered Nurses, Addiction Counselors, and Case Managers. Learn more about our clinical and medical teams here.
What amenities are offered at the Colorado Springs Detox Center?
The Colorado Springs Center sits on a beautiful property in central Colorado Springs with views of the Rocky Mountains. Some of the notable features of our facility include:

Do you use medications to assist with medical detox?
Yes. Upon admission, you will be evaluated by our medical team, which will determine what medications will be used to make your detox safe and comfortable.
Can my family and friends come visit me?
Family members and friends are welcome to call Colorado Springs Detox Center in order to receive an update about their loved one, but we currently do not offer visitation.
Will I have access to my phone or computer?
During your stay at Colorado Springs Detox Center, you will have the ability to call family members after the first 72 hours in the facility. However, clients will not have access to their personal electronic devices such as cell phones and laptops. These will be kept in our secure storage area for the duration of your stay.
Is smoking/vaping permitted at the facility?
Yes. Smoking and vaping are allowed in designated outdoor areas, but all tobacco and nicotine products must be brought to the facility unopened and in their original packaging. They will be inspected upon arrival. Teens are not allowed to vape.
