What is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

Our adolescent IOP programs are designed to support teens experiencing substance use or mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD, while allowing them to stay in school.

Our teen intensive outpatient program meets roughly 16 hours per week after the school day for 8-12 weeks. Treatment includes academic help, weekly family sessions, group therapy sessions, and weekly community activities.

Each teen also receives one-on-one attention through individual therapy sessions with the licensed senior clinician and family therapy sessions with the primary family therapist.

Our Holistic Approach

Our holistic program considers a teen’s social, emotional, and physical development and the unique needs of teens overcoming substance use while their brains are still growing.

The best way to help your teen to heal is to ensure that they are understood in their unique stage of life. That’s why we provide individualized, evidence-based treatment programs entirely centered on what matters most for your teen.

We focus on developing good social and academic habits, while also focusing on strengthening the entire family while your child is involved in our outpatient program for teens.

Signs Your Teen Needs Outpatient Treatment

Teenagers are at a difficult stage of life, and sometimes it can be difficult to tell as a parent whether your child’s struggles are normal. It’s crucial to be able to get your child the help they need early, so that they can find coping skills before their symptoms become overwhelming.
Some signs that your teen could benefit from substance use or mental health treatment include:

  • Sudden changes in mood and behavior
  • Academic struggles and difficulty concentrating in their daily life
  • Using substances despite negative consequences
  • Difficulty sleeping or sleeping more than usual
  • Risk-taking behaviors, such as self-harm or suicidal ideation
  • Social isolation and seeming uninterested in hobbies

If these behaviors sound familiar, then it is time to introduce your teenager to an adolescent intensive outpatient program.

Online Treatment Programs

Our virtual IOP program offers the same programming that we offer in person, all online – this is ideal for those who live too far to drive to an addiction center, have transportation issues, or have health concerns that make in-person treatment challenging.
